i trust them. no i don't understand why they do somethings, but i realize, hey, i haven't obtained political science degrees, or been a senator, i don't know how to run a country, i think they are doing a great job.  just think back, remember when mom told you to do something you didn't like, because it's whats best for you.  same idea, you don't trust it because you are too proud to admit you don't know whats best for you

I may not understand your question well but if you are asking weather we trust the national/federal government to govern on lower ends too well the Founding Fathers didn't trust for them to do that! They purposely created the checks and balances because they know corruption occur and greed is in human nature thus you need people to be aware they are being watched adn they will refrain from abusing thier power. Hamilton wrote that for you to conquer human nature you need to put ambition vs ambition and thus you create an affect where they have to do a LOT of good towards the people adn thier country to keep getting the power they yearn; and by allowing others who may better adn more greedy for power both have to work hard to do better and to keep them ALL in control you create branches of government that checks each other out. That is whay the Supreme Court Judges are put in a lifetime position so they could never be pressured in passing the laws that are reflective of the current government eventhough we have seen some abuse in the past years for reasons i do not know!
