  1. There's already been disputes over water as a resource and a commodity; it's one of the many many factors fueling the conflict in Isreal/Palestine.

Here are some ideas on conserving water:

-Drink tap water with a filter. Refill those empty bottles instead of buying new ones.

-Turn off the water when you don't need it (duh.)

-Install low-flush toilets if you can afford it. (Recently installed one in my parents' house for $1200.)

-Use the short cycle on the washing machine.

-Check the weather often to see when it's going to rain. If it's going to rain within 2-3 days, don't water your lawn or outdoor plants. If you really need to water your lawn and outdoor plants, water them at night/evening so less water is lost through transpiration.

  2. Taking shorter showers.

  3. I take baths instead or showers because it's more relaxing and saves water

Use bowls and cups under any small leaking faucets or pipes for my lawn

and thats it but I know I save water that way

  4. When I used to live in the desert, yes.  Now that I live in the southeast, not so much.

I pay attention to my water usage, but it's not much of an issue where I live right now.

  5. Ya, I am trying my best to save water.

I am washing dishes by my hand.

I am pouring my garden with bubbly water.

    I do some more things,

    Do you appreciate that ???

  6. I conserve water in many ways.

    - I place bowls in my sinks to catch water runoff from whing hands or rinsing dishes to reuse in my garden.

    - I capture shower water to flush my toilets with

    - I fill a small cup with a small amount of water and use only that to brush my teeth.

    - I use about a cup of water when washing my hands.

Rainbarrels and grey water recycling from the washing machine are also good ways to conserve water. Xeriscape landscaping (no grass) is great too. Fixing leaks is very important also.

  7. You know despite the abundance of water, the amount of usable fresh water is exceedingly small, and almost all of it is underground where it is unlikely ever to be tapped.  Almost all water that we use makes it's way to the ocean and never re-enters our water cycle.  Don't forget catching rain water.  It usually isn't fit to drink, but it works fine for your gardening, washing, etc.

  8. yes i collect rain water to water the plants i also buy the plants that can tolerate hot dry conditions.
