  1. I have found that coupons are for the "brand names" and the store brand products are almost always cheaper and just as good!

I also go by "Unit Price"  On the bottom of the shelf price sticker it says something like a package of bacon will be 'so much a pound' and then the unit price 18 cents.   The other ones will be 'so much a pound' and the unit price is 29 cents or 17cents and so on...  It sure makes it EASY to choose the best buy.

Once you find out about unit pricing being posted in your store (and you may have to insist that your grocer do it!) you will be well armed to avoid the highest priced items.

Also, I notice that the people who look really poor are the ones buying cigarettes and sodas at the 7-11 stores and paying double for all the other stuff they are buying - like diapers and food items.

It is a crime how everybody selling anything is using the gas prices to add so much to the price of each item.  I know that it does not cost 45 cents extra for every single item that is loaded on a truck to be brought to the grocery store!

Literally, highway robbery.  Just slack off on your buying, like you have on your gas purchases and watch what will happen.  It is the only way America can speak.

  2. I shop at Ingles where coupons  .50 cents and under are doubled and some times they do triple coupons. I also shop at the Audi store u have to take your own bags and bag your own groceries. They sell off brand items but they are fairly cheap. And I go to Go grocery outlet store for mostly can food items.

  3. Well time is money so I just go and grab.
