Here is a map of countries that don't use the metric system:

Billions of dollars are wasted every year converting numbers back and forth between systems, redesigning systems with flawed conversions (one of the space shuttles exploded partially due to a misconversion), and trying to educate people on the two different types of systems.

Metric is now the world standard for Science. Thoughts about it? Do you understand why it is a superior system? Do you hate it?

  1. It's generally considered a better system as everything is based on factors of 10.

  2. The map says it all really, its probably about time Burma stopped pretending its right about everything and caught up with the rest of the world.

Metric is neat and tidy, everything done in tens. What the h**l is 3/8ths of an inch?

Now, about that clock. When is that going to get 100 secs/minutes etc.

  3. Yes I understand the metric system.  But I only use it when talking about the weather.  For everything else I use imperial measurements.
