* Mineral Oil, Paraffin & Petrolatum – Petroleum products coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatological issues, like slowing cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer & Disruptive of hormonal activity. So why put that stuff on your skin?

  1. I've never used it, found it to be too greasy.

  2. we use an organic olive oil based diaper rash balm and it works great. no petrobaby here!

  3. Baby oil has another danger: If aspirated the oil completely coats the interior of the lungs not allowing air to pass through. There is nothing that EMT's or doctors can do and the child will eventually suffocate to death or develop deadly pneumonia.

I've never used baby oil, and I'm surprised its still sold!  A few years back, they passed a law that baby oil and other products that contain the same dangerous ingredient must have child-proof packaging.

Other products that are dangerous for the same reasons include:

    Baby oils

    Sunscreens

    Nail enamel dryers

    Hair oils

    Bath oils

    Makeup removers

    Body oils

    Massage oils

    Automotive chemicals:

    Gasoline additives

    Fuel injection cleaners

    Carburetor cleaners

    Cleaning solvents:

    Wood oil cleaners

    Metal cleaners

    Adhesive removers

    Spot removers

    General-use household oils

    Gun cleaning solvents containing kerosene

    Other:

Water repellents containing mineral spirits used for decks, shoes, and sports equipment

  4. never used it never would even think about it.

  5. I've never used it on the skin. I have used it a few times on my 2yr old when she was a baby. I put a drop on her cradle cap and used a soft brush. After do this 2-3 times it went away. Other than that I have never used it, always thought it was too sticky.

  6. Everyday: oh h**l no, the poor thing would break out. Only occasional use (like when my wife sets up the slip & slide for our 4 year old). The baby can't walk yet, and can't get a running start like her big brother.

  7. Sounds like you asked and answered your question all at once!

I don't put anything on baby unless there is dry skin or a rash.

  8. thanks....so much!
