  1. I would never dial direct....I'm a cheapskates....I use the computer for free calling and/or a calling card!!


  2. I only ever call abroad direct for a few seconds or in emergencies.

    I often call Luxembourg, German and France, usually on a calling card called banana card. It's probably not the best deal around but cheaper than calling with my normal provider and the most convenient way for me to keep an eye on the costs.

    If it's always the same people you are calling they might be able to get some sort of international calls flatrate (cheaper than in the UK). My parents as well as my sister pay 4€ a month with different companies to have unlimited calls to anywhere in europe.

  3. I use the cheapest prepaid phone card I can find so that I can talk longer without spending a fortune.

  4. calling card works best if they don't have a computer.  w/yahoo messenger or windows messenger and a webcam, you can see and talk to the other person for FREE!!
