  1. Map because I'm too poor as it is get a GPS system as it is,though I do download maps off of yahoo maps.

  2. Neither. I don't get lost.

  3. Just a map.  Naviagtion systems cost big bucks and become obsolete in a few years.  If they malfuction and you are out of warantee then you are out a few hundred dollars.

A map costs under $8 and is good for at least a few years.  If it gets lost you are out $8.

  4. I just got a GPS system a few months ago, and I love it!

  5. We do both.  The car navigation systems do not have knowledge about highway construction tie-ups or other instances when the gps tells you to go one way but the police officer is telling you that you cannot go that way!

  6. navigation but 4 new places i use a map

  7. Paper maps worked very well for a hundred years--save your money

  8. its the year 2007.   we use a navigation system.

  9. Paper maps because they're cheap and you can see the whole region of a place with ease instead of having to fuss with zooming in/out. which makes them better for choosing an alternate route.

Directions via navigational systems are based on shortest path routes which are often the slower route.

  10. just a map

  11. We have a map.

  12. navi

  13. As a truck driver fo the last 17+ years I usually plot my course before heading out then refer to a map book if need be.

As far as I know the GPS will not tell you if a road is a truck route or not. Not knowing can get you a HUGE fine.
