  1. No, I am old and slow...

  2. No, Police normally use lasers now, not radar.

  3. only in the corvette and eclipse.

  4. Never leave home without it.

  5. Yes. I don't want the hassle of going to court and paying fines in some small hick town in the middle of nowhere when the middle of nowhere is hundreds of miles from my home.

  6. Nope.

I like staying out of jail. =)

  7. i don't need one. and yes i do speed as much as the next person.

  8. Nope, I know where all the cops are and when I speed I usually am not the only driver on the road speeding and when you are going 10 over, the people in front of you are going 5 over and together there are like 10 speeders what is the likelihood you are going to get caught?

I like laws just as much as the next guy but when I'm going to be driving down a road with no stop signs for a mile or so I I know I'll be getting better gas mileage holding it at 55 or so half way and coasting which gets me to the light just in time for it to turn green as opposed to the light ALWAYS catching you when you go the speed limit and forces you to idle for about 3 minutes.

If speed limits were set to where you would never hit a red light going the legal limit or slightly under it I would probably wouldn't ever have a reason to speed.

  9. I stopped a long time ago. Some are pretty sensitive and several things set it off. It also threw off my internal radar so to say....I relied too much on the detector. The higher priced ones are supposed to be much better though and offer gaurantees.

  10. yes... Beltronics......Love it!!! It not only lets you know when cops are around but it also works to help monitor your speed.

  11. no.   i just follow the road rules so it would be a waste of money

  12. Yes, I use a radar detector. But I don't speed. So, why do I use a radar detector?

Let's face it: Nearly every one of us will drive over the speed limit at some point, often unintentionally, sometimes as an emergency precaution. "Never drive over the speed limit" is not a feasible option unless you mechanically alter your vehicle to never go faster than the speed limit, and that is a dangerous alternative. A very good alternative is to use a radar detector to remind you to check your speed to ensure that you are driving within the limit.

Not all police are using laser yet. In fact, contrary to a previous post, most police still use radar, not laser. Although most radar detectors will alert to laser pointed at your vehicle, you then have less than 0.2 seconds (2 tenths of a second) to adjust your speed if necessary. I use a laser jammer to alert me to police laser. Like radar detectors, laser jammers are legal in nearly every state. A laser jammer jams the laser gun speed reading while alerting you, allowing me to adjust your speed if necessary, before turning off the jammer.

  13. no
