  1. A friend of mine and my-self once made up the word sussed, we were working in a boiler house in North London many years ago in the early sixties when we had a problem 'wiff' a boiler when the solution suddenly became apparent to me and I said to him I think I suspect the answer to our predicament.. then together we shouted "SUSSED IT" both in our phoney cockney ascents and at the same time, from that day forth we've sussed loads and loads of life's little problems.

That is our contribution to the English language.

  7. This isn't MY word but in Ireland the word "Suss" means break in Irish like playtime at school, it can also mean "story" as in "does she know the suss?" = "is she aware of the details" To "Suss" a place or situation out means to get the spec on the situation, we have a lot of Gaelic words that are used in English speaking situations mostly with a comedic meaning....that's a whole nother question though!

  12. No - only by mistake!  There are SO many words which scarcely glimpse light of day that I am on a crusade to use as many existing ones as I can before they are pronounced obsolete!
