Do you use chopsticks or a fork when eating Chinese foods?

I am going out to a Chinese diner, and I fell like it would be nice to respect their customs by eating with chopsticks.I use chopsticks in my day to day life only because I like to use them. Do you use chopsticks or a fork when eating Chinese foods?

I use a spoon because I eat Chinese food at home.  I like to get every tender, juicy morsel and hate spilling any when I lift the fork.  I've never learned to use Chopsticks and haven't found any restaurants in Las Vegas that offer them as a way of eating.  I would like to try them as it would be fun to do.

I like in California and it seems that a lot of Whites here known how to use chopsticks.  But I do have a friend who doesn't.  BTW I don't think the people work in Chinese restaurant mind if you use a fork.

Chopsticks, hands down!  And since you already know how to use them, why not just go with the flow?

i use fork cause i don't really know how to use a chopstick, it's hard for me, but next time i go to a chinese restaurant i'm gonna try to learn eating with them:D

This is weird - I eat Japanese food with chopsticks and Chinese food with a fork.  But, this coincides with my comfort level.  Since you are experienced with using chopsticks, then you won't fumble.  I suggest that you follow what your host and hostess do.  If this is a group dinner with friends, then do whatever makes you happy.

chopsticks for most dishes..  unless it has a lot of rice..  then fork or spoon..

in americanized Chinese restaurants they dont do that but if its a reallly  traditional restuarant then use them

I've tried many times to work chopsticks, and I'm simply not coordinated enough. I'm going to keep trying. But for the mean time, I'll be using a fork.
