Do you use hypermiling when driving?

  1. I'm not all hardcore about it, but I try to speed up and brake gradually.  For example, if there is a red light ahead, I don't use the gas to get there and then brake, I just coast there slowly.  If it turns green by the time I get there, I don't even have to stop.  

    I haven't really kept track of my mileage, so I don't know if there's much difference.


  2. I started doing this Monday and I have noticed a difference in my fuel efficiency. Its hard to break my bad driving habits. I accelerate very slowly and try not to use my break, and try and coast to stop lights. I also try and stay a good distance behind the car in front of me and stay below the speed limit. In Texas the speed limit is 70 so I drive around 60 - 65 mph. I drive a large truck with a V8 engine and I can tell the difference. It gets kind of annoying having to drive what seems to be so slow but it seems worth it. Good luck
