  1. english makes the object ball throw as well as changing the path on it and the cue ball it depends on the end result of where you want the two balls to go best way to find out is table Time and experimentation

  2. I use them at every opportunity.

Unfortunately, they have been using me and my ilk for centuries.

  3. Yes, but only when necessary to keep from scratching and if it is necded to give you good position on your next shot.  Its part of controlling the que ball to stop where you want it to so you will have a good shot on your next shot.

  4. Top or stop mostly for pos.

English into a cut I only use on more forceful strokes, so the path is not altered until contact with the object.

then the English on cue is tracked more aggressively.

  5. Yes, english is probably he most difficult part of the game.  Only time on the table and a lot of expermintation will help you.  However, if you want to play a good game you just have to get to work and learn.  Mostly top, to follow, and bottom to stop or backup, but let and right are very necessary to assist in getting decent position for the next shot.
