  1. I had one of those carriers when I was a little kid and it served it's purpose...I was too small to carry skis over my shoulders

the one I had had a retractable cable so you could lock it onto a ski rack while you were skiing otherwise you had to rent a locker to store it in

today's shaped skis have alot more camber than the ones I used with that carrier so I'd be leary about "squeezing" my very expensive skis....unfortunately I don't have my parents paying for all my equipment anymore lol

  2. "Ski Tote" was cool in the '80's...so were neon blue and green one piece ski suits.

I've used several of those things...one from Barrecrafters, a real Ski Tote, and another one that was good for skis and boots too....they are all more trouble than they are worth.

I keep a small, retractable, combination lock and cable in my ski bag. When I need to lock up the planks, it fits nicely through the bindings. The Ski Tote was a pain to lock up.

Also, if I'm at a big resort with multiple lodges I can easily stick the little cable lock in my pocket...the Ski Tote would be rather hard to put in my jacket pocket.

  3. Since you are bigger and older now, I'd not bother with the ski tote. Other locking systems are around, or use a bicycle lock and cable. Best case though is to use the ski check at the area.  Skiis are seldom stolen any longer, seems the snow boards are more tempting to the people who will steal equipment.
