Do you use your turn signal ?

okay, I can get my license next month and for the driving test, my friend said you're supposed to use your turn signal before turning into a parking space, so do you? beause i've never seen anyone do it before and it seems kinda silly ?

so please help me, i don't wanna fail

Yes, when taking your test, do anything that will help the other drivers around you, know what you are doing.

It does seem silly, but yes, technically you're supposed to do that.  So do it during your test.

Amber, I am 64 and I have signaled like this since I was 16, and no one has hit me in the rear end, or gotten mad at me for signaling. I have gotten irritated at people who do NOT signal their intentions, as have a lot of other people. Drivers are not mind readers. That is why signals are required to be installed on cars, and why drivers are required to use them.

I signal to change lanes, to stop, to turn, and to park.

its a very good idea to use your turn signal, especially when parking. it allows other drivers around you to have some knowledge of what you intend/are doing, and gives pedestrians a good sense of the same.

Plus, even if you think it is stupid, your driving instructor will think it is the most important thing on the planet, so if you don't you might not get your license. Just do it for one day and then you will be fine don't push things.

Well it's up to anyone's guess. For example if you're like wating for somebody to empty a park space some do to indicate it, also if there are cars moving near to you so to let them know you're parking.

Well yes but around the mall/shopping i don't but you are supposed to.  I only time when i do is if their is a car behind me on a neighborly street and i park on the side of the house.  It shows the driver behind you what you are planning on doing.

It cant hurt. Most people Don't and I've never heard of that, but it may be a required law, that just isn't enforced, I'd do it anyways, just to be safe.

You're supposed to signal when turning into a parking space.  I do unless there's nobody around me.

Under these circumstances, if someone is following or approaching you, you should always signal.

Letting other drivers know your intentions is always a good idea.

If it's in the driver's manual, you're supposed to do it. I know in PA it is, and everyone should. Just because people never use their turn signals doesn't mean you don't have to. I mean, how hard is it to click your turn signal on? Your hand is already on the wheel, a mere inch away from it!
