  1. try using tampons; tampax pearl use a regular or heavy one it shouldn't be leaking but try using one widf a panty liner supporting jus incase you leak and thats how you'll know but you shouldn't be leaving if your putting it it correctly and changing every 3-4 hours or even later because the tampon is blocking the passage from where your leaking onto a pad

  2. It depends. If your periods aren't very heavy, then you won't leak. I have heavy periods so tampons aren't really an option, although if I limit it to three hours then I usually can go swimming. You can experiment on yourself. Try a tampon with a pad on as well for a few hours when your period is at its heaviest and just see if you have any leakage. Most women don't leak.

  3. No not at all. As long as you change your tampon when you're supposed to you shouldn't leek the first time or ever. Good Luck!

  4. Nope, I have never leaked, and at that age I had a quite heavy flow, too. You should try going swimming every time you have your period from now until November so that you get comfortable with it.

  5. If you are worried, just try it out while you are at a home the first few times, its a comfortable environment, and before long you will realise that its even less likely to leak than pads are. I have not really ever had leakage probs with tampons, only if its a REALLy heavy flow, and then I just wear a liner for double protection.

  6. unless you are really heavy your period stops when you go in the water...im a swimmer and most of the girls on my team dont wear tampons unless they absolultey need to..

  7. Well, everytime I use a tampon in the evenings, it leaks and I still have to wear a pad.

You'll probably have to try one of those special sport tampons.  I've seen them on TV but I've never tried one while actually awake and active.

  8. you asked a graphic question. i will give you a graphic answer. :-) when i first get my period, if i put in a tampon, sometimes it will leak a little. at night, i never use tampons, so on mornings that i have my period, this is what i do: i throw away the pad from the night before (duh lol), put in a tampon, take a shower, then IMMEDIATELY take the tampon out and put in another. and no leaks! i think what happens is, the tampon goes all the way in, near your cervix. when i am not wearing a tampon, the entire v****a had blood going thru it. but the tampon goes in near the cervix, so the whole area beween the end of the tampon and the hole that leads into the v****a is bloody, but no tampon is there to absorb it. so the blood just falls out (a leak). thats why i put my first tampon of the day in, take a shower (to let all the blood come out thats below the tampon), then change it right after the shower. and i have no problems. was that not the nastiest answer ever? ew! sorry! basically, what i am trying to say is, lets say you have a swim meet at 4:00 pm. i would put in a tampon around noon with a panty liner, and then change it again right before the meet. then, change it after the meet, and i got $5 that says u wont leak. just make sure you are using the right absorbancy.

  9. Do yourself a favour, get a box of tampons with multiple sizes in it. Depending on how much flow you get, you may need a different absorbency of tampon. After you wear it for so long, you have to change it or else it will start to leak eventually. You will be fine for swimming, but tests a couple of different sizes out ahead of time and see which one is the right size and best for you.  You can wear one anywhere from 4-6 but you should change it every 4 hours, and alternate on and off with pads. Although I wear tampons the majority of the time.

  10. No. Well, I didn't leak. It's just going to feel weird when you do it for the first time, you will get used to it though..

  11. Make sure the tampon you're using is the right absorbency for your flow. Use the highest absorbency in the beginning of your period, then go to "normal" flow, and then down to light.

If you change it often, you won't have leaks.

  12. they dont leak only if u had it in to long.

  13. It's possible...get excused from gym and swimming when on your periods

  14. you should be fine for swimming....change it right after if you are worried and see how much more it could have absorbed.  Don't get the cheap kind.

  15. Yeah, I leaked all over the place. The school halls were so slippery it was crazy

  16. Wow you still haven't used tampons?? No you don't leak you just need to change it every 5 hours or so...

  17. You don't have to wear a tampon if you don't want to, but if you do want to try it you could experiment with different sized tampons to find which one doesn't leak for you. The size of the tampon you need and how often you have to change it might vary depending on what day of your period you are on. For example I have a much heavier flow the first day of my period than the last day. If you start using one the next time you get your period you could probably get the hang of it by November and be able to tell which kind of tampon you will need for swimming.  Also, follow the directions on the tampon box. Good luck!

  18. As long as you insert it properly and change it regularly you shouldn't leak.  If you can feel the tampon you have not inserted it properly.  The boxes come with instructions follow them, and you will be Maxi Pad free for life!
