  5. i think they want you to b/c they always put smiley faces with thanks on the cc slip, but I don't. Do you tip the burger king guy for putting your burger in the bag and giving it to you at the window?

  7. at a sit-down restaurant with servers the to-go order is still done by a waiter or waitress. Who do you THINK does it? The chef? It is a bigger PITA than dine-in, let me tell you, and a lot more pressure to get it RIGHT. They certainly dont want to come back for the right potato or to get their steak cooked more. Definitly tip at least 15%

  8. I always tip anyone who gives me personal service. But I'm from Vegas so I may be bias and just be programed to tip. My rule is if the person performed a service for me and did with a smile and without attitude then they deserve a tip.

  9. I always tip. Even at self service restaurants like Fresh Choice. The kids who clear the tables get the tips and they should!

  11. I only tip inside restaurants where people are actually looking after you and checking if u are having a great time.

  12. Most of the time they never even come out and I still end up going in. If I go in no tip. If they actually come out I'll give them 10% or so.

I always tip relative to the service I receive.  TIPS began To Insure Prompt Service.  It isn't a given that you have to tip.  But I don't care if it is Sonic, I tip and I tip good service as much as 20% or more.  Carside people work in the weather and have to hustle just like the inside staff.  

    Think about it.  If it were you would you want a reward for good effort?  By the way, tip the guy washing your car, too.
