I have an exhibition coming up in a couple of weeks and I need to know. My instructor is Paul Askham, the four-time British National Ice Dance Champion, six-time World & European Champion, and 1988 Olympic Team member.

  1. yes. YES! thats sooooooo gross not to...i dont knoe anyone who doesn't. except a bra, it depends on the dress.

  2. If I were you I would wear a pair of thongs.  That way people can't see them but your not all gross.  I would hate to have discharge in my tights!  Good luck with your skating!  Have fun!

  3. For a performance - absolutely not!  My daughter never wears them during practice either because her tights make them slide down, but you should never wear them during any performance.  The worst distraction while watching a skater is when she spins or turns, the skirt flies up and there are her undies hanging out under the dress.

  4. NOOOO!!!! Nothing is more distracting during a performance than a thick underwear strap showing when your skirt flies up.

  5. NO!!! pro skaters never wear underwear unless it's a thong. It feels wierd at first with underwear, but it's just something u have to get used to my coach said. Just make sure u don't have underwear hanging out of ur dress, cuz it looks really wierd and unprofessional.

  6. I don't, unless you are having a period. NEVER WEAR UNDERWEAR IN A COMPETITION!

  7. you could wear something like bloomers like cheerleaders do

  8. Yeah, I do! I only didn't once for a test, and it felt wrong! Never do it! I am doing Double Axel, and I have never not worn underwear, except for that one stupid time when I didn't! Really just wear a dress, that covers your underwear, and if your really that concerned wear a thong under your dress (I really wouldn't) but really if you care that much, you should! It would at least feel better then not wearing them! Its yucky!

  9. I never wear underwear unless I have my period because even if you wear underwear you need to wash your tights everyday so it doesn't really matter. And also tights come with a kind of built-in underwear so it's not uncomfortable. Actually, I've skated with tights that were so ripped that there was nothing covering my butt when it came to my footed tights but I always wear over-the-boot tights too so it didn't matter. But, underwear looks bad so just don't wear it. But if you have to because of like your period or something then wear like flesh or white colored that u definitely can't see when your skirt/dress flies up. NO COLORED UNDIES!

  10. I would never.  Even when I'm menstruating (helloooo Tampax!).  I've seen WAY too many girls' underwear when they skate.  They think it's covered, but with the dress's briefs, you really can't feel it when your underwear starts peeking out.

  11. No.  I wore thin dance tights, and skating tights over them . . . I didn't need/want another layer underneath all that (the skating dress brief would be another layer - eek)!

The dance tights had this cotton crotch lining inside . . . so I didn't have to worry about "anything" (it literally took the place of underwear!) - with a nude lining on the outside so it would never show through.  And of course I washed all my tights after skating in them - that's just common sense hygeine!!

Good luck with your exhibition skating!

  12. When my daughters were little (age 4-10) they did not wear underwear when they competed, they did wear skating tights of course. Their coaches did not want underwear showing through the dress.  It's a very big distraction if their underwear was poking out while preforming, and it also looks tacky.

When they got into their tween years they starting wearing  thongs under their dresses while competing.

  13. No WAY!!!  You will feel confined!! Especially when performing axels!! Gahh!

  14. its up to you.

some people dont feel comfortable wearing underwear because they give you wedgies.

  15. yes you can wear underwear

    the skinny underwear

make sure to stuff the part into the rear of the dress

    its not a swim suit

    not wearing underwear is disgusting

all the famous skaters wear underwear

i mean what do you think kimmie meissner wears when she gets her period

the answer a tampon and a pair of underwear under he dress
