Do you value sum1...?

Question

1. because of their status, or does your opinion change on sum1 when their status changes?

2. Do you forget those when your status changes, those who've been there for you at the most toughest and painful times in your life?

This is a inspirational and moving story, inshallah which we all reflect on and value those around us instead of being to busy picking stones.

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she's blind. She hated everyone, except her loving fiance. He is always there for her. Blind girl said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her fiance.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to the blind girl and then she can see everything, including her fiance.

Her fiance asked her, "now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" The girl was shocked when she saw that her fiance is blind too, and refused to marry him.

Her fiance walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to girl saying. "Just take care of my eyes dear."

okay now i cant stop cyrying. i can get really emotional and sensitive sometimes.

i pray to allah that i never become like that. however conditions may be in my life, i hope i never intentionally nor accidentally hurt anyone like in this story. thank you for enlightening me

My Lord...would you believe that? Hated her life, hated everyone, hated herself, walks away from her fiance...what a monster. I don't know if this is true, but it's really sad anyway.

I tend to judge people by their status sometimes, but try not to. Never been in a really tough and painful time Alhamdullilah so can't really say :)/

I was gonna say no i don't.   And for the most part i don't....without goign into detail, lets just say most of my friends are of a "lower satus", but after reading that story i guess i do to some extent......atleast in terms of intelligence / reasoning.  

Aside from the eye thing not working....i'm thinking why didn't he just scour the alleys for a recently deceased bum and harvest his eyes.  

At the very least, just give one of his eyes.....he still makes the sacrifice of depth perception and the girl does get to see.    Also taking care of of a blind person will require some extra income....and the girl being blind, most likely hasn't acquired the skills necessary to earn the same level of income.  

But yeah, thats literally what instantly comes to my mind reading that story.    I'd consider that guy a complete waste of life for not having adequate reasoning skills.
