  1. I have nothing wrong with people making jokes, but he just isn't funny. i checked his other videos, and they're also not funny. he seems to have made a career out of being a politically incorrect, angry Honduran.

    In short. Vegetarian jokes = funny

    Carlos Mencia =  not funny.

  2. i just heard it- what a ******* douche

    i hope he loses all his money C:

    he's just not funny

  3. Well, I've never seen or heard of him before. I see he's into unpleasant racial stereotypes.

    His vegetarian rant isn't funny, but it's not offensive either.

    A number of comics ARE funny on the subject of vegetarianism though. I'm vegan and I don't mind a laugh or six at my own expense. I certainly don't think it's a no go area for comedians, I just don't think this one's very funny.

    Edit** Difference is JR, Bill Bailey and James Cunningham are funny, so their vegetarian routines are funny. They can both pretty much ramble and be funny - especially Bailey whose acts are largely ad lib. Mencia relies on repeating cliches as far as I can see. Subject matter immaterial.

  4. LMAO!  That was awesome!

    And yes, he's feeding gullible people stupid ideas.  Far as I'm concernend, if you're dumb enough to believe the gospel according to Mencia, you deserve your coronary.

  5. Haha, no way thats the funniest thing i have ever heard

  6. I don't think he's funny. As a veggie I have never pushed my views onto a meat eater because they can eat what they want. But I don't appreciate that guy getting cheap thrills from discriminating against a large group of people. It gives people the wrong idea about us veggies.

    I looked at some of his other gigs- he doesn't seem like a very nice person to me.

  7. I watched it on TV a couple of nights ago.. I laughed. It wasn't hilarious but it was funny. I think he's a funny guy. People don't like him because of his very racial jokes, but I like him because he's actually saying stuff that hardly anybody else wouldn't dare say, and making it funny at that. Kudos to Carlos.

  8. Not having a  sense of humor part of being a vegetarian?

    As for your second statement: Since vegetarians are very much in the minority, it would be more logical to conclude that vegetarians are gullible people with stupid ideas. The majority of people have heard and rejected your ideas because they think it's stupid and you are gullible. Ever think about that?

  9. It was a joke.

    Should we start taking George Carlin literally and begin praying to Joe Pesci?

    ::edit::

    I think funny is a matter of perspective.  My two favorite comedians are George Carlin and Dave Chappelle (in that order).  There are plenty of people that hate both of them even though I can laugh for hours at something they said.  Mencia's playground is racism (as is Dave Chappelle's), and a lot of people just don't like it.  Did I laugh at Mencia's joke?  Absolutely.  He's done a lot of things that have pissed people off, but its comedy, I don't think anyone should take it seriously, and I really don't think anyone's mind was suddenly changed into a pro factory farm slaughter machine.  The point of comedy is not to take it seriously.

    ::edit2::

    "I'm not saying that I don't enjoy jokes about vegetarians but sending out false claims through national tv is wrong."

    Almost all jokes are false claims.  Jokes are based on exaggeration.  Without the exaggeration, its not funny, its just another fact.

    Example: What do you call a vegetarian with diarrhea?

    A salad shooter.

    (see, exaggeration... a really gross kind of exaggeration)

    Was what Carlos said wrong (in the factual sense)?  Absolutely, but it was a comedy routine, not a lecture or documentary.  Veggie jokes to me are more of a sign that vegetarians are becoming more prevalent (otherwise we would be ignored), not that people really believe that stuff.

  10. Dude for all you ppl who think hes racist learn to take a joke i mean its A JOKE hes just messing with your heads carlos himself says he knows his jokes are racist we all hear ppl say racist jokes even non racist people the thing is dont tell a racist joke unless you can say it to a person of the race(ex. tell a mexican joke, if you cant tewll it to a mexican dont tell it at all) and besides hes true with somethings not all but the point is to entertain not to offend you people take it too seriously I mean come on!
