  1. i love mexico last time i went we went to the pyramids

  2. Absolutely fabulous!  I spent a month backpacking  starting in Tulum, then Palenque to the Mayan ruins, a twelve hour overnight bus ride up in the mountains to San Christobel, lots of breathtaking places visited including Agua Azul, a trip down the Somerdero Canyon, then the final week on Isla Mujeres. I swam with the dolphins, went snorkelling over a reef.  I was 50 years old when I set off on my expedition, slept in cabanas on the beach, did all sorts of wonderful things.  I will never forget this wonderful country.  It was an experience of a life time!

  3. I have visited in Mexico and seen the archeology in many places.  Once, on the highway from Toluca to Guadalajara we came upon the sign that indicates that a pyramid was nearby.  We followed the signs and ended up on a small dirt road.  The road led us to an "arroyo" where some men were making a bridge with logs.  They were far enough along to permit us to cross, very cautiously.  We continued to the end of the road and followed a narrow path into an area where a small pyramid could be seen.  The gentleman who met us was the person who had discovered that pyramid.  The government had given him the job of clearing it and one assistant.  He had found the pyramid while walking onto a hill from his house.  It was in the 1960s when he found it and in the mid 1980s when we saw it.  I thought it was a marvelous story.  He and his assistant were clearing the shrubs from the hill/pyramid with machetes.  There were stones with the "caracol" carved in them indicating a connection with Ciudad Mexico and/or the costa.
