Answer tthree simple questions about survival and global warming

1) How did polar bears survive thousands of years when there were no icecaps anywhere in the world?

2) Why did the grain exporting colonies in Greenland (notice the name) go extinct shortly after the Little Ice Age began? Did they all starve to death? Greenland's ice cap is 200 feet thick in places which brings us to the third question.

3) What is normal and what is abnomnal weather? Do I get to tell people from lush times that their climate needs deep ice caps and snow covers, and a lot more starvation into extinction, especially among homo sapiens. Wasn't that Neanderthal's fate? Isn't that we would do to our children?

Three answers are all you need for a new global warming convert. That is a deal at twice the price. With all your experts this must seem a slam dunk to you.

  1. The idea expressed by the Chinese guy was incorrect.  There might be decadal patterns of climate variation but there are much longer term cycles that are more important in determining glacial and interglacial periods and other cylces of solar output that are also more important than the 11 year sun spot interval.  According to both fossil and DNA evidence, the polar bear diverged from the grizzly bear roughly 200 thousand years ago.   The last period of glaciation was about 10,000 years ago.  Climate change is the norm.   I suspect even in the warmest times in the last few thousand years, there was some ice at the North Pole in the winter.  I would think that Greenland's continental glaciers would be much thicker than 200 feet.

  2. lol

  3. 1. Lol.... Yeah... and I didn't know that a five fold increase in 5 decades was a means for environmentalists to say that polar bears are declining.

2.Because there was declining harvests and most of them left or died because of the little ice age.

3.There is no such thing as a normal anything. no normal climate, no normal weather, no normal people or place.

  4. Keep asking those questions. One of things that spurred my interest was the Nathion Geographic Article on the Neandertals, *Jan 1995 or 1996". The article came complete with a global temperature (No scale given) history for the past 1,000,000 years. The chart shows peak global temperatures reached every 100,000 years for the past million. It also shows that we should be right near the peak of that cycle now.  The article was written by one of their senior editors. his name, Rick Gore.  A picture of him in that article reminds one of Al Gore, as if they are related.

  5. 1.  Now your foolish, there were indeed large ice caps then it was the end of the ice age when they began to diverge from the grizzly.

2.Greenland is not suitable for much argiculture.  they depend on fishery more.

3.Normal weather pattern goes in a predictable cycle that repeats eachother over decades so most people don't know it immediatly.
