Question:

Do you want eloquence or competence in the captain of the ship steering us through troubled waters?

I want a captain who can make decisions, take action, and stay the course, not someone who thinks he can negotiate and talk his way through storms. By the way, storms will always come. The test of the captain is what he does to weather it. Bush and McCain didn't cause the US storms -- gangs, poverty, sicknesses, global conflict, etc.

  1. I want competence.

That is why I am voting for Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin.

  2. Not even going to try to top Mariners3. That's great anad I agree. Send it to the McCain strategists.

Don't need a pretty boy wet behind the ears as the captain in storms.

I can just see a designer sweater tied around his shoulders.

I'm voting for competence. Competence you can believe in.

  3. A brilliant analogy !!  I want a competent captain... an old salty, crusty-trusty shellback who's been in the Realm of His Majesty King Neptune many a time.  A Skipper who has his pipe clenched 'tween his teeth as he squints into the storm, and steers us clear of the shoals.

"Ensign" Obama is a neuvo-riche yatch-club Commodore... all attire, speeches, and book-reading.  A man who sails his little boat on the bay in lovely weather and would p**p himself in a gale.

Captain McCain will flog an unruly crew (ear-marks from Congress), navigate surely and safely... but BOLDLY.

    Poetic ??

  4. eloquence
