i guess this is a sensetive question, but is on topic as it is about the human perspective. do you want this city to be ravaged by storm, it's people broken so you can have something to watch on tv and something interesting to talk about...

or would you rather have it miss, so all those people are fine, gas stays at current prices, and people don't have to rebuild. but then... you don't get to vicariously live by watching destruction...

which do you hope for?

  1. No, I do not want Gustav to destroy New Orleans.

  2. I don't hope for either, but i hate gas prices, and also when innocent people die, so whatever happens happens.

Thankfully I don't have to decide or even impose.

That's a good thought provoking question though, personally I'm more interested in the people who are strictly against terror and destruction, but influence it, or emphasize it. Interesting.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention, I live is a SMAALLLL hypocritical town.

  3. Why on earth would I ever want to watch sadness, death and destruction on my TV or anywhere else??

If you want to see that, go play a video game.

    People have feelings, sympathy, empathy.

  4. Um, I'm going to go with option two: I hope it misses. No, I don't live in New Orleans, but I'm also not a sociopath.

  5. I personally do not wish for Gustav to destroy New Orleans.

New Orleans is a place, just like New York City, just like Los Angeles.

We should probably be working harder to make hurricane guards so we wouldn't have to spend so much of our little money we have trying to rebuild the city every year after the hurricane season.

  6. I hope it is safe and survives, but if it dos'nt I don't think the government should spend millions more to rebuild it if it is going to keep happening.  I feel bad for people who grew up there but, if it's not a safe place to live-there is nothing we can do about it.  Here is a question are we still paying for those 7000 trailers?

  7. I hope it misses.  I don't like to see destruction, especially when it comes to seeing people loose their homes or lives.  ;*(

  8. I hate to see anyone suffer, and I still feel sorry for those who live (lived) in New Orleans.  But, I think that anyone who has lived in any flood zone that floods over and over should move to a safer place. Since the Core of Engineers cannot build levees that will provide a high level of protection for all, I believe most of the residents of New Orleans should move and leave the area to the oil fields, fishing, shrimping, etc. The cost in lives, dollars, taxes, constant worry, etc. is too exorbitant to continue constructing and reconstructing the city.  "Times, they are a changing."  It's time for New Orleans to change, and it will, whether by the choice of the people of New Orleans or the ravages of nature.

  9. I NEVER EVER wish evil to happen to people and thats EXACTLY what is going on, terror an sadness. Absolutely not. It's horrible.

  10. I went to New Orleans earlier this year, it's beautiful place with great people there.  I spoke to some people about the devastation of Hurricane Katrina - many areas were still affected and had not totally recovered from it.  So for it to be hit by another hurricane is just tragic, and I hope it misses New Orleans!  I would wish death and destruction on anyone, especially when these people have already lost so much.

  11. you hang with a nasty crowd of people.

Why would anyone hope for devastation?

Luckily, most poeple have heeded warnings and left the coast.
