  1. i love animals... but when i had to put down one of my dogs... it was so hard. i'd had her my whole life. her name was reagan. i really don't think i have it in me to put animals down.  i don't really know what i want to be yet. i'm thinking about being an orthodontist... but i really really want to go into politics. but i'm pretty honest so i don't know how far that'll go...

  2. I seriously considered it, was pre-vet for a while in college, but then did some ride-alongs with a mobile vet, and decided that though I loved pets and wanted to help them, I didn't love the owners who waited until their animal was half-dead to call the vet, or told the vet they couldn't spend a couple hundred dollars to give their pet a lifesaving treatment, or just plain neglected their animals.  The first day out, we saw a dog with distemper who was 10 years old and had never been vaccinated for anything, the owners wouldn't let the vet even give sub-Q fluids because the $30 he said he would charge was 'too much money', we saw a pregnant dog that had been in labor for two days before they called the vet, the owners had her euthanized because they couldn't pay for a C-section and spay to save her life, we saw a very ill dog that had more matted hair than body mass, and we could not diagnose or treat the dog because the money for any tests was 'too much for a dumb dog'.  I decided there would be no way I could be civil to these people day-in and day-out, and screaming at clients probably wouldn't get me far in a vet practice, so opted to go another career route and just enjoy my own animals.

  4. I do want to become a veterinarian.  Its not just because of my pets it is my love for animals.  I know there will be death in the job but the way I see it is that I will save more than I will euthanize.  I have also volunteered at the zoo for about six years and now I definitely know that I want to be a vet.  I want to help animals in ways that other people cannot help.

  5. yes i have always wanted to be a vet tech or an animal caretaker because i love to help animals and i also love to take care of them for example take them on walks and give them baths.

  6. I couldn't because I wouldn't want to see the suffering, not to mention working on animals in school...dead or alive, couldn't do it.  I can't even touch the dead, thawed mice I feed my snakes, I use a big tweezers.....
