Do you want to hear Sarah Palin's explanation as to why she fired the police chief of Wasilla?

shortly after taking office? There is no doubt it was well within her right as mayor to fire him, but the circumstances behind his termination are shady at best.

According to the former chief, he was trying to get bars to close down at 2 am instead of 5 am in an effort to curb drunk driving and accidents. And he was cracking down on people who were carrying concealed handguns and other weapons.

The bar owners appealed to Palin to keep their bars open until 5 am and the NRA stepped in on the concealed weapons issue.

Sounds to me like the police chief was correct in trying to protect the citizens of his city from drunk drivers and the officers on his force from some nutjob carrying a concealed handgun.

I do want to hear her side of the story.

Of course, the fact that he tazed his 11-year-old son, was/is under investigation for a number of "excessive force" actions... I'm sure that had nothing to do with it, right?
