I'm Chinese (though not really good at it, being a Chinese) and I think that the fastest way to learn would be in a Chinese-speaking country. China people have an accent to their Chinese which even Chinese people from other countries like Singapore and Taiwan might find it hard to understand. Honestly, I think Taiwan would be the best since their Chinese standard is really great and their accent is not so heavy, so almost any other Chinese can understand you without taking a delay of like 5 secs to interpret what you just said.

China isn't thaaaat bad. I've had friends who intern-ed in China before and well, just make sure you stay in the cities like Beijing and Shanghai. And make sure you're medically insured. Their public hospitals are horrible.

I'm a chinese but I still have to learn chinese I guess, it wasn't enough

most of the people told me after they're learn chinese in china, it just waste their time, china is a big topic at these days but nothing last forever
