dont get me wrong i love playing golf and try to play at least once a week but it's usually once a month now in the winter.

But i find i cant watch it on the TV.

i just find it to boring to watch and the commentry is dull.

i would much rather play, its no wonder a lot of people call the sport boring, i should know because i thought that until i picked up a club.

  1. Golf is a gentleman's game.  Maybe it's the only game

left with no violence.   I also like watching it

on tv as there is nothing prettier and more calm than

the scenery on a golf course with new scenery at

every turn, unlike the boring basketball floor and

football field.  The golf audience at the event keeps

picking up until some matches have more fans than

football games attract. Golf is a game that the average

person can play well into their senior years....most

others aren't. Anyway, not a bit boring to me.

  2. Did u see my answer on jakes joke the other day about golf lol I mentioned u actually.. I said the same thing about how it's boring to watch but not so bad to play. I'd probably enjoy playing golf if I didn't suck at it lol. Not about to tell my handicap (i don't even know it lol) but then I've only played maybe four times total.. anyways I totally agree golf on t'v gives me ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's

  3. I love to watch it on TV.

  4. I like watching it on tv its kool to see how the Pro's get out of some of the jams that I have found myself in when I out on the golf course.  I agree golf on tv can be boring when you got the bug to play.

  5. You are high.  Was there a better lead-in to the SB than a playoff?  Awesome TV.  Too bad Phil lost.  Did you see him practically sprint off the course to get to a TV?  I would rather play, too, but watching the pros battle it out is pretty cool when its pissing rain and blowing 40+ outside my window.

  6. I watch it occasionally, however I usually watch it when I'm struggling with a particualr part of my game.  I try to focus on what the pros do in similar situations.

Oh and I also watch it when I'm in the mood for a good afternoon nap.

  7. I watch all the time.  Once I started playing and realized just how difficult it is to play, it made me appreciate the talent of the men & women on their respective tours.

  8. Yes, but seldom.

  9. Golf is great on televis...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.  Huh? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

  10. Watch it as much as I can - Can also cook, work, etc., while it is on.  I kind of use it as a cybernetics training tool.  The more I watch the pros, the more my brain wants to emulate them.  So I do find myself in a better posture, slower tempo, etc...

My only issues relate to consistency and learning how to read a green.

  11. I would much rather play but can only take so many vacations in the winter to play.  I like to see how the pro's play around hazards and other trouble spots.  I also like to see how they controls their distances.  Some people think baseball or Nascar are boring.  Soccer on TV is more boring than golf.

  12. I do watch it, but like you I would rather be playing than watching.  The problem is it is a difficult game to televise because everyone plays from a different spot except the tee and the green.  So what you end up seeing the most of is guys reading putts which is pretty boring.  It has gotten better over the years (they used to just televise the last 4 holes) with swing analysis and more mobile cameras following the action.  I do watch the majors though especially US Open and British Open.

  13. I'd rather play, too but I enjoy watching golf, especially meaningful tournements like the Opens and the Masters.  (and the Ryder Cup).  There are some excellent announcers - McCord, Faldo, Dottie Pepper, all do an outstanding job.  But for the BBB Open in Podunk, well, only if there is absolutely nothing else on.

  14. I love watching golf on TV.  I never miss a PGA TOUR event.  I find it absolutely fascinating to watch how these highly-skilled professionals attempt to navigate the subtle intricacies of course architecture.

  15. have you seen women's golf lately?

dude they have some hot chicks now

    check it out

and yeah mens golf on tv is freaking boring
