  1. You don't have to wear one at all. It's not compulsory.

  2. yes left hand and second finger from the left.

  3. yes it is important to wear your wedding ring on your left hand, because you left ring finger is the only finger thats connected to your heart. Before medical science discovered how the circulatory system functioned, people believed that a vein of blood ran directly from the fourth finger on the left hand to the heart. (This belief allegedly dates to the 3rd century BC in Greece.) Because of the hand-heart connection, people named the putative vein descriptively vena amori, Latin for 'the vein of love'. Due to this tradition, it became accepted to wear the wedding ring on this finger. By wearing rings on the fourth finger of their left hands, a married couple symbolically declares their eternal love for each other. This has now become a matter of tradition and etiquette.

  4. i do. but i'm not married either. my boyfriend gave it to me. i wore rings on both hands. both on the fourth finger, next to the little finger. when my people saw me, they'll go like 'ey u're married!' i was like no, not yet. i dun see it matters if u wear it either ways. unless u're hinting to some cutie or hottie that u're unattached - dun wear a ring. =)

  5. Germans wear their ring on there right hand, I don't see why not

  6. I'm engaged n wear it on my left hand. well, if you want others to know u are married, it should be on left, but if it bothers u, i guess it doesnt matter.

p.s. if it feels weird for u, you will get used to it!

  7. I guess it would be ok, but it's tradition to wear it on your left hand, because the ancient Greeks believed that your left hand was connected directly to your heart.

  8. yupper---left hand

  9. Usually in the UK you wear the ring on the left hand - it stems from an ancient belief that there was a vein in that finger that ran straight to your heart. This vein was meant to be called 'the vein of love', thus this was where the wedding ring would be worn. (It has since been proved there is no such vein, but the tradition remains).

However, some countries such as Russia, Germany,Poland, Spain, some Balkan countries and some South American ones wear the ring on the right hand. Also, in the Netherlands, Catholics wear them on the left, non-Catholics on the right.

So, it really doesn't matter which hand you wear it, at the end of the day. If you prefer to wear it on the right, then there is no reason why not. At the end of the day, it is really what the ring stands for that matters, not where it is worn. I have even seen them put on a chain and worn as a necklace, maybe they didn't fit the finger anymore, but they still wanted to wear it somehow.

  10. I always used to wear rings on the right hand, but it is expected that if you are going to wear a wedding ring it goes on the left hand.  You soon get used to it and then wonder where it is when its not there.

  11. we wear ours on our right hand

  12. yeah, you wear it on the fourth finger from the right or the second to last finger on the left.

  13. yes both an engaement ring and wedding ring are supposed to be worn on the ring finger of the left hand. I believe in some european countries, they may wear them the other way around but I don't know why.

  14. I don't like wearing ANY kind of jewelry, except for one chain w/cross that I've worn all my life... Whenever I used to "dress up" to go out, I would eventually end up taking the "extra" pieces of jewelry (earrings, rings, bracelet) one at a time, and they would all end up in a little nook in my purse by the end of the night...

When I got engaged (and married) I was so proud to be wearing that ring, that, even though it bothered me at first, I wound up "putting up with it" and eventually I got used to it...

Now I only take my rings off when I shower and put gel on my hair, and the other day, I accidentally forgot to put it back on, and noticed about four blocks away from home. I went back home, to put them back on, cause it felt wrong not to wear them... wierd, I know...

I believe in Europe, some religions/cultures wear their wedding bands on the right hand... you could look into that too, if you really want to keep your left hand "naked".

  15. Yep.  Left hand is standard.  You'll get used to it.

  16. Russians wear it on the right hand.

  17. I just swapped my ring to my right hand today. I noticed my skin has got a rash on my left finger but I still want to wear it.

  18. yes - left hand ,finger next to your little finger- don't suppose it matters which hand although with the left hand being traditional people would assume your not married

  19. Left hand 3 finger. However if it makes you feel uncomfortable and your partner doesnt mind, then its up to you.

  20. There is no law, but it is tradition to wear it on your ring finger of your left hand. You can however wear it wherever you would like..  I know someone who also does not like to wear rings and wears hers on a necklace.  If you wear it on your right hand,  other people may not know that's what it is but, that shouldn't matter.

    Hope this helped :)

  21. Same  I HATE IT ! but then again i hate wearing rings in general - but i suppose its one of theese things you get used to over time - depending if you have a good relationship - lol x

  22. I'm Greek Orthodox and we wear it on the right hand, but since I live in the UK I go for the local custom of wearing it on the left hand. It doesn't matter, really. A wedding band is recognisable wherever you wear it.

  23. We don't, we wear our rings on the right hand, but it's an ethnic tradition for us - Eastern European.

  24. Yes, traditionally so as they believed (although I don't know how true it is) that the vein from that finger on the left hand led directly to the heart. Unrelated, but interestingly, wedding rings were always traditionally plain and smooth to represent a smooth marriage.

  25. hey i aint married yet but i believe that its always fine to have the wedding band on a chain around the neck. several of my mates are in proffessions that dont allow any jewelry on their hands

  26. It's traditional to wear your wedding and engagement rings together on the fourth finger of your left hand, with the wedding band on the inside (closest to your heart). But if you are uncomfortable wearing rings on that hand, by all means you can wear it wherever you please.

  27. Typically Americans wear the wedding ring on the left hand also.  However, in Germany they were the wedding ring on the right hand.  So I guess it would be up to you and your significant.
