  1. "my services of security they could give me shoes!"

  2. Some people do:-

  3. No money is the best way. It works fair always

If you are only providing a service that MOST people can do (Shop worker, cleaner etc etc)  then you can only ask a smaller amount of money. If you are providing a service only a FEW people can do (Doctor, Brain surgeon etc etc) then you can ask for larger amounts of money.

  4. Well, sometimes that seems like a fantastic idea.  Except I don't think I have much to offer in the way of bartering.  If forced to though I guess I could come up with something.  It couldn't be much worse than having a job could it?

  5. yea i'm a big guy so no ones going to argue with me

  6. No I don't think so.  I am fairly elderly and wouldn't have the energy to do chores for my food.

  7. a little of both would be good - I would love to have some help in my garden (hate gardening) but dont have the cash to pay someone

  8. I think it happens more often than you think.   It avoids paying taxes, inspections, etc. in contracting work.   The government looks down on this as they're missing out taxes.

There are websites such as craigs list that does in fact have a section for barter.  I don't know how successful they are.

  9. h**l yes I do, we should turn our backs on this economy driven, credit riddled, evil that is commerce.

Someone once said money is the root of all evil, it is, that and the power that goes hand in hand with it. Someone else once said absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Give me a few acres to share with my neighbours and I'll be a happy man.
