How much can you really know about yourself if you haven't experienced the most fundamental part of life?

  1. There is a practice in certain mystic traditions to contemplate death and meditate upon the thought until the impurities of mortal thought fall away leaving behind the reality of existence as it would be in the mind of an innocent person or perhaps a new born child. This idea however I take is a fact that we all think about our death one time or the other. We all try to imagine what would it be like when the moment would arrive. I think we do this really to know ourselves, to fathom deeper into the mind to know the essence of our being, or perhaps to combat fears and apprehensions of a temporary existence.

I have heard about people who have near death experiences. I have listened to the stories, the thoughts and reflection of their ‘after life’ with great deal of fascination., never wishing the same for myself.

I think instead of wishing I tried to I imagine, and even rehearse, as what would I do in case I am facing death. I think I remind myself of being conscious, brave and within the fullness of my faith, asserting my faith in the God Almighty, His mercy and forgiveness.

  2. I kind of look at things like Secial Ephex,...everyday can be looked at as a near death experience...My car caught fire with me in it once,...had I not stopped the car and got out, I could have blown up in the car...I was very lucky, I didn't know it was even on fire until I stopped..someone shouted at me that there were flames comming out from underneath the car!

As a mother, you are always worried for the safety of your infant ( I was terrible about it), constantly worried about birth and possible defects or worse, and after the birth you worry about crib death and so on...for me the thoughts of these terrible things happening to my child was horrifying and would have seemed worse to me than my own death.....

I think sympathetic, highly sensitive, intuitive, compassionate, and empathetic people can get a good sense of what these feelings could be like and learn to find appreciation this way as well.

Even those who should find themselves in a situation where near death is a reality,....this doesn't always mean that they will learn from this experience or even find a better sense of who they are and what there life's purpose may be....some people will still take it for granted and do nothing.....it's a state of mind within the self that will decide how we will act or react when faced with challenges, though some may turn the experience into a positive others might not....

  3. no man

u dont need a near death experience to see it

some people do the greedy and selfish

but for me i dont want one

i see wat values in my life and i try to take every chance i can

after all my motto is u only live once...........

and if i dont take one i get pissed at myself

  4. I've often thought about stuff like that, it would be great to experience it and come out of it alive (as long as you do come out of it alive and don't die!), maybe we'll experience something like it in the future. That's what I love about life, so many exciting things could happen at any time. In the words of a wise scholar "life is a rollercoaster, just got to ride it"

  5. I already did....

  6. smoke some DMT. you'll see the tunnel, I swear!

  7. yeah

helps you figure out your priorities

    eg. what you'd save

    who you'd save

    who you love

    who you hate

  8. Thanks for the lecture, Tyler ;-))

  9. Not really no.

  10. You got to be kidding.  I have one every night and sometimes even in the afternoon.

  11. Queensland Australian Northern Territories Airline Service has never lost a passenger; only a few 'horny sheilas' having lost their knickers, and (on occasion) 'virginity' (an extremely rare phenomenon on QANTAS flights) to (Antipodean pu$$y-crazed) 'Poms', during  'flights of the double sunrise', and, I assure you, that; is wasn't only the sun which was rising! "Sorry mate, I know we are about to land in Manila, and,  I don't give a fiddler's f**k what's going on. I've started, so, I'll finish!!" Best 'Nigels' (Captains) best 'Assistant Nigels' (First Officers) best Pursers, best 'flying battleships' (over the age of retirement Flight Attendants) - those Aussies are so, so, cool during a crisis. We love them. Fly QANTAS.

I still haven't experienced a lot of life yet, so it would be good experience and also to build up my knowledge.

People dont acknowledge life and just let it pass them by. They should learn life is priceless and what better way to teach them that then a near death experience. I wish to learn and feel everything and everyone should be able to feel this.

I believe everyone does hve a near death experience, and evryone should.

It may better or ruin life, it is your choice.

  18. "Near' is only half-way there, followed by an abortion of  the experience. Much better all-the-way, the full experience. And I don't have to wish for that - it is only a matter of time.
