Do you wish you were born in the UK?

I totally wish I was. I want there accent. And I noticed on how alot of kids from the UK have TONS and TONS of friends and kids over here in America don't have that many friends. / :

No way! By being a foreigner, you get all the benefits of living there BUT you only have to take part in the cultural bits you like (generally being polite and waiting in line) without having to do the silly bits so many English people do automatically (saying sorry when someone bumps into you) if you don't want to.

I am British and i think i can saftley say that i am a native. As my surname predates the Battle of Hastings in 1066, also it predates the English language. And to say we are only a little nation, we have come the closest to world dommination at the height of our empire. We onwed 3/4 of the planet. We invended democracy and many more ( to many to list). The counties what where in the British empire are now some of the riches and fairest nation in the world. My family origant from the northen parts of Great Britain. We are now a MEDC.

I live in an AONB( area of outstanding natural beaty). So yes you are right to wish you where British.

Stasvekg: before you disrespect our Great nation, just think what we went through to free your country. We gave the n***s 24 hours to leave your country or we would declare war. We nearly lost that war, if we did god knows what would have happenerd. My Grandad gave the ultimate sacrafice to stop the n***s. We where one of the first countrys to join the EU. So have some respect for the country what saved your country from parrel. After all with out us you would be dead or slave to the Germans. We ask nothing of you but respect and peace.

To immagrants who claim that they are British, you are living a life of lie and illuision. Being British is a born right. And before people say i am a not a native i have looked up my family name. My family has lived through most of the British history. And it is possible to be the Real natives the first British caveman. My family has its own crest.

I'm British so was born here. Lol. Why do you like the accent? Lol, when I was about 14 or 15, me and my schoolfriends used to put on an American accent! We all wanted to be American! I hate the UK though, well, not so much the UK as a whole but England. It's a sh*thole. I'm more in love with my husbands culture (Portuguese)..we're moving to Portugal in October and I absolutely cannot wait! Much better country for my children.

I was born there and my parents must have thought it sucked so we migrated to Australia. If you arent happy where you are go to another country why not! I now live in china and I live very well better than how I was in Australia, so changing countries is not a bad idea. why britain? the weather isnt always the best,  but, the curries are!

UK is great. But really its pretty much the same as Aus, USA, Can, NZ... apart from the weather and the accents. All great countries.

Thing is with people in the UK, they don't appreciate what they have. They think they can go and live somewhere else and stuff will be better. Except for the weather.. it won't be.

Tbh i would live in any of the countries i mentioned... but definately not continental Europe. The general rudeness and arrogance is quite alarming.

Im happy that im Polish and not British cause Brits are boring and their imperialism they really did some horrible things to the world and now nobody likes them. Poland was occupied and Partitioned at times and always fought for the right cause and I can trust my Goverment ! LOL  our system is less biurocratic here so live is easier in Poland just sometimes theres not to much jobs avaible thats why some of us are in the UK now !

i was born there, can't complain i suppose, it's alright, even if it is a bit grey and miserable, but that can't be helped as the weather is a law unto itself. Though if i had a choice, i don't think i would of wanted to come from Oldham :-/

and contrary to the common stereotype stated above, we all don't have bad teeth. I certainly don't. I find it funny that some people believe just because your born in a certain part of the world, that you automatically have bad teeth. idiots!
