Where do you work? How old are you? (if i may ask) How do you deal with rude customers? I am applying to McDonalds. I will probably have the job because they need employees. I don't want my mouth to get me fired.

  1. Well I don't but my sister does.  She is 20 and works at McDonalds.  She is a very free spirit and speaks her mind ALOT.  he has actually been fired from another job because o her mouth.  What she does is just being nice to the costumers and if their rude just takes a deep breath and yes says what she really wanted to say to them in her mind after they leave.  haha.  That's my sis.  Well, I hoped this helped and good luck getting that job.  Just remember to bevery courteous.

  2. I used to work at a McDonald's while in college.  I just brushed off the rude comments and remained friendly.  The worst customers are those that go through drive-thru while talking on the cell phone.  We had 30 seconds to start taking the order and when they are on the phone you can't take the order.  Of course this counted against us.  When I worked their I was expected to run the front end all by myself, front counter orders, collect money, drive-thru orders, make coffee, make hash browns, stock.  This is how we were scheduled one maintenance man, one in grill and myself.  I had customers driving off on a regular basis since I couldn't take drive-thru orders the same time as taking front counter orders.  When it came time for me to be a shift manager I never got the position since I couldn't handle the job I was given.  I wouldn't recommend the job.  On my days off they would schedule 2 people to do my job.  That person got $3 more an hour than me because she could do the job, (of course she could she had more help).  One day I had a bus full of customers come in, the drive-thru customers got ignored.  I had to take orders in the order that the customers came in.

  3. im 14 and work at mcdonalds i work in a mcdonalds thats in a big shopping complex so its really busy all the time.

i work front counter, some times we get rude customers but we just serve them and get on with our job at maccas u r always busy restocking straws, napkins, cups and that when u r in training u will have to watch this 1 hour video then he will run you down on how to cook fries etc, then on ure second shift if u r making burger u will learn how to do that if u r front counter u will be making french fries for ure first couple of shifts, then u will learn how to use the front counter.

ive been workin there for bout 4 and a half weeks its a good job but i still make mistakes lol.

hope ya get the job =]

    good luck!

  4. I got fired because of my actions. Customer was high and would'nt shut up so I made him shut up. And I got fired. Also, its just a fast food job. Id rather have no job then a fast food job.

  5. I worked at McDonald's for over a year.  I was 17-18, I was just always calm, laugh about them later.

Hopefully you have fun co-workers, that's what makes the job.  :]

  6. I don't work in fast food, but I've had a lot of experience with rude customers.

It's all about turning the other cheek.  There will be a lot of things that will p**s you off, but you can't get frustrated.  If it get's really bad, have someone else step in, or go get your supervisor.

Remember, the rude people contribute to your paycheck just as much as the nice ones.  Youw ill also find that there are far more nice customers than rude ones.

  7. I work at Burger King in Missouri. I'm 20. I'm mostly on Drive-Thru. You CANNOT be mean to the customers. At all. As much as you'd like to... no matter how stupid they are... no matter how annoyed you are... you have to keep yourself in check. If you say something mean back to them, it could get your restaurant in a lot of trouble. It's perfectly okay to rant and rave about them to your coworkers though. :)
