I do, I wonder if this is a good or bad thing? When I have someone, I want to work 100x harder..When I'm single not motivated like I have nothing to work harder for.....Why does being a relationship have that effect on me?

  1. I do the same thing when I have someone in my life.  I think it's because we want to make them proud of us, show them that we're worthy to be with.  I don't know, seems like a self esteem thing!  But you're not alone.

  2. I have had a partner for almost 14 years.  If I constantly worked hard for 14 years I would be dead from exhaustion.

  3. I've found that many people, myself among them, tend to do that.  I think that it is partly a desire to have more to share with someone about whom you care, and partly that it's easier to push yourself on the job when you've got loving support to which to come home.  We're social animals,  after all, everyone needs someone.
