Do you work off of commission in a jewelry store?

I am applying for a job at a jewelry store, and a friend brought to my attention that I might be working off of commission, is there hourly pay?

Answer 1

Could be one of three options.  Salary alone, salary with commission or 100% commission.   I would not work in a jewelry store that pays commission only.

I have seen jewelry stores go both ways.  My mom worked at one and was paid hourly, but got a bonus based on sales.  My sister worked at a bigger chain store and was straight commission, but sales were almost guaranteed since it was a very busy store.
