Do you worry what others think of you...Guys?

How many of you worry about what others think of you....im a real worrier, im always worried what others think of me usually at work..

im quiet and keep to myself but the rest are just a bunch of f/kheads who gossip because they have no life, i only have conversation with 3 guys, and all the females workers only because i get along with women better (was raised around women) but when i hear rumours about the other males saying stuff behind my back it really gets to me, on friday i was working out front on my work (detalier at a car dealership) there was a bunch of car salesman standing around doing nothing, one guy said something to another guy who works in the office, then they all turn around looked at me then laughed in my face... i was liek wtf are these d/ickhead problems why cant they go sell a car or something...the thing is i know of everyone at work but now im only speaking to a few of them...but yet it botehrs me the others make fun of me..because i talk to the goodlooking females, who do talk back (sounds pretty normal) .ive tryed ignoring these d/ickheads but when ever i walk by there they are staring like im a ******** s*x symbol or something...one guy turned around to me last week and said "hey hows it going u big stud" i was like 'what are you talking about'...i really hate it, so now ive been ignoring the females because i dont want that attention but yet they ask me why im not talking to them ...why do men always get so S****y when a female is paying attention to a guy who does have enough balls to go up and make conversation, thanx seeya

don't worry about it, it's easy for me to say right? well, it's the truth. talk to whom you wish. car salesmen are a different breed all togeather anyway. they don't understand you, they don't have a nice thing to say, don't worry about it. good luck!

You hit the nail right on the head when you observe that they gossip because they have no life. I couldn't have said it better. People who have too much time in their hands will have to devise ways to amuse themselves. (I remember that saying I saw on a sticker vaguely, that went something like "Small minds prefer gossip, big minds mull on ideas.")

Be the best car dealer you can be - that ought to shut them up! In sales, the best way to prove your mettle is to have the best sales record. And please don't give up your friendships with the women, especially the hot ones - I think you also deduced correctly that since the women talk to you, they are filled with envy and use their "gossip" as a way of excluding you. In fact, the more you keep your friendship, the more it will drive them up a wall!

Who wants to be part of a group consisting of losers? Definitely not you. (Just so you know, I'm also in sales. I know what you mean.) Good luck!

That sounds like harassment.  Depending on what country you come from you are entitled to mediation and independent advice.

If they are making the work environment uncomfortable for you on a day to day basis, it's time to take action, let the guys know, if that doesn't work or you feel like it may cause more problems, see your supervisor/manager.  If that doesn't work, yep, mediation or independent advice.

No one should be made to feel isolated.  I was picked on at one job once, by everyone at all levels, I was to naive to see it at the time, I ended up leaving and found a better job with better circumstances and pay.

Maybe you are a stud and that's why they're talking about you. They're jealous or maybe they're interested. If I call someone a stud it's because I think he's hot and I'd like to get to know him better.

Sounds as if they are not a great bunch of guys.  Obviously it's rude of them to behave that way.  They are probably either bored or jealous (or both), so they talk about you.  I'm assuming they are less than attractive, and unattractive people can be bitter, unfortunately.  Try to ignore them.  Hopefully they'll get tired of it.

First off, we can't really stop what others have to say about us. As long as what we're doing is correct, then don't bother! The society has been going on like this for ages. And, no matter how well you do, there's always dissatisfaction. So, No, i don't worry about what others have to think about me.

Congratulations! By writing about your co-worker in this section, you are now officially a part of them, whom you are actually talking about.

Seriously, you need to snap and realize that you actually have the same problem because instead of telling your co-workers how you feel, you are talking bad about them here. Just like how they did to you on the job.

It's not that I am trying to upset you or anything. You really need to step up and tell them what you like and what you don't. They need to know that you don't like being called like that. Communication is important, and dr. Phil didn't say that just for marriage, but for everyone!

Just talk to the females, if they're you're friends! What do you care more about - the men talking about you or having good friendships with the women! The guys are probably only laughing at you because they're jealous and they can't think of anything else to do .. that's what people do. And anyway, don't stoop to their level by ignoring the women, it hurts too many people, you might even lose their friendship. Just be yourself! You'll be the one who benefits from it in the end.

I think i have the same issue when i was working at a different place of course, it was weird. Men would always be starring at me nasty and weird like if i were some sort of disease or something weird cause i was having fun with some good looking girls i used to work with. But i quit the job and got a better one and now i have my own office so no one tells me anything.
