It drives me crazy.... when i put the formula in & shake it leaks all over the place... its happens with most of the bottle ( I have 5 ).. The last thing i need when my baby is screaming for food is split milk.. Am i doing something wrong? ( I always make sure the teat is fully in & when i put the lid on I "Click" it in) or are the bottle just c**p? if so I am going to write a complaint to AVENT as we pay good $$ for these bottles... Thanks for your answers in advance!!

  1. Mine do this too sometimes.  I found that the problem is when you put the lid on too tight.  If you just place it on and slowly s***w it, they are usually fine.  I always make sure they are not leaking before I feed my baby.  I know they have made me very angry at times, especially at night feeding when I go to feed her and it just pours all over her, then I have to change her and it wakes her up for a few hours.

They really should fix the problem.

  2. I had some Advent bottles with my Son, who is now going to be 4 this November, THEY LEAKED EVERYWHERE! ugh.. it was so annoying.

I will tell you right now the best bottles I have ever found was Dr. Browns bottles. They are just simply awesome. I do have to say one thing though they do take more time to clean and such but the pro's out weight the cons on that. My son had horrible gas and he kept spitting up constantly. I actually thought we were going to have to consider using a soy based formula with him because he was so bad.

I actually did try every since bottle they had in the wal-mart baby department.. No, I am not kidding..I seriously tried every since one well we finally broke down and bought the expensive Dr. Browns bottles and low and behold my son after eating slept for 8hrs STRAIGHT! Mostly because the poor guy was so tired from not getting any sleep and not keeping down any food for the past few days.

Anyway I would suggest you try Dr. Brown's bottles.. They are great. You do have more stuff to clean but as long as you rinse out the bottle after you feed then the cleaning process isn't so bad when it comes to the actual cleaning. Also I used those one bottles you get for like 1$ (the cheap-o's) for the mixing, and storing of water for formula.

I just threw away the nipple that came with it and used the stopper, and the ring to mix the formula with and if we were going to be going somewhere I would use one to store formula water in. That way when all was gone from the bottle I had spares that I knew wouldn't leak out everywhere.

Anyway I would write Avent and complain I did that when I had problems with their bottles when my son was trying to use them but All I got was a "I'm sorry" letter..Yea like that made it all better -.- and something about how I could have recieved a defective bottle.. I would have gone more into it but it was my 1st baby and I barely had time to sleep much less complain about bottles.. So I left it alone but At least I did tell them there was a problem and that was 4 years ago so apparently it didn't help much.

I don't think it's fair that they are taking advantage of New Mothers like this cause like me most of them don't have the time to complain and would rather sleep than spend there sleeping time trying to contact customer support. I say more power to ya!

  3. I tried a few different kinds of bottles- I had gotten  different sets at my baby shower. That was one of them. But I didn't like any of them and eventually Went and bought the playtex nurser system. (the ones with the disposable liners) .So much easier. Never looked back. The Vent-aire ones really creeped me out too. Trying to imagine what could be living in all the tiny little holes in that stopper thing at the bottom. Mommys shouldn't have to worry about constructing a bottle out of so many peices when they are sleepy. The  Playex ones are so nice to just throw the liner away and not have to wonder if you were able to scrub that ring of milk towards the bottom of the bottle. Fresh new liners each bottle insures nothing is stuck in there posing any kind of threat.  My daughter didn't like the silicone nipples though, She would only take the latex ones.

  4. It isnt just you mine are the same $9 each and only 2 out of my 6 dont leak

It is sooo annoying  they are ok when i put the milk in and as soon as they are tipped up or i swirl the milk they leak out the side of the white s***w on part i want to conplain also

And dont bother with their Manual breast pump i can be standing there with my nipples leaking and then i try and pump my milk and not a drop comes out

I spent over a hundred dllars on it and all i can use from it is the free dummy that came with it

    I would write and complain

Also if you have noticed that the teats when used more than 4 days have such a strong flow that baby chokes and i have to feed differently so that it flows slower and i am using the newborn slow flow
