My 13 & 10 year old go to the same school, so here is their schedule

6:45-Wake up

6:50-7:05-Eat breakfast

7:05-7:15-10 year old takes shower

7:20-7:30-13 year old takes shower

7:45-They leave for school.

They actually created this schedule themselves, before, that's how i got into asking this question.

My 5 year old wanted to be a "big boy" and made himself one, also.

8:30-Wakes up

8:35-8:45-Eats breakfast

8:50-9:00-Bathes'

9:05-9:10-Watches T.V

9:15-Drop him off at school.

Do your children have a schedule, if so what is it?

  1. My oldest is going into kindergarten this year and we are working on a schedule for him because he has to get on the bus at 8:30 which will be new for him but he is already use to getting up at 7 am so we figure he can get up then, take his medicine and brush his teeth and get dressed then get some breakfast and out to the bus stop by 8:15 (bus is sometimes early).

My youngest goes to preschool again starting in the fall so he will need a schedule but he doesn't go everyday so that kinda throws his schedule offf but we try to keep itt pretty much the same even on off days.  But he doesn't get on the bus until 10 am so he sleeps in until 9am then gets up for teeth brushing, breakfast and getting dressed and he watches usually a cartoon while he is waiting for the bus

  2. Not written down that they actually follow to the minute, by the minute but they each have their own little routines that they do follow.

    Mostly its:

    7:00- wake up

7:05- get out of bed and get dressed

    7:15- have breakfast

    7:25- sort out hair

    7:40- get lunch sorted

    7: 45- watch TV

    7: 50- leave for bus.

It's good, because it means I'm not bothering all the time shouting: 'YOU NEEDED TO BE AT THE BUS STOP TWO MINUTES AGO!'

  3. Looks good! It's wonderful that they created the schedule themselves.  I also think it is lovely that your younger kiddo has set up his own routine.

In my house, we also get clean after breakfast. It's just easier.

You are obviously doing something right!

  4. Wow a little organized, but yeah thats ok. I never have a schedule just play my morning by ear.

  5. 6am wake up

Kids get dressed, shoes, socks (while I fix bfast)

    6:30 eat breakfast

    7:00 brush teeth, get snack

7:05 to 7:15 leave for school

  6. Well I'm a child, here's my routine from sleep to waking up.

    16 years old so:

    12:00-2:00-Sleep.

    6:00-7:00-Wake Up and Shower.

    7:30-8:00-Leave for School.

I never really created it, just sort of got used to doing this same routine over and over. However this summer I wake up at 6 and leave at 645 to go to SAT Prep at a Korean Tutoring place more north than Toronto...

  7. Alarm goes off at 6:04

Get in the shower at 6:05

Get out of the shower, dry off, plug in straightner, put pjs back on 6:20

Pick out what to wear and get dressed(workout clothes) 6:35

    Straighten hair 6:40

    Brush teeth, contacts, etc. 6:45

Pack up books, make sure clothes are packed, get my lunch 6:55

    out the door before 7:00

  8. Well you'll get a better answer from a kid and Im 14 and now Im in 8th Grade. No, I dont have one. But without a schedule I feel more organized and not rushed cause with a schedule you can lose somethin. I make sure I get everything done before 8:12 so I then have time to orgainize my stuff before 8:20 which is school time in NC.  Maybe you should have them drop the schedule.

  9. I am a kid and I have a schedule.

  11. I have a three year old and yes she has a schedule I think its good for a child, i think of it as structure.

    730-8 she gets up

8-930 she is eating breakfast and watching tv

after that she gets dressed and brushes teeth

1030 she can go outside weather permitting if not we play in doors no tv. books. art. dolls....

    12 lunch and movie. tv

    1 nap

I leave the after noons open mostly because of things I may have to get done. she may not always follow this but on my fridge is pictrues in order what she does and every morning she goes over it by her self.

  16. My kids have to get up early 6 days a week whether school is in session or not.  My job doesn't stop just because school lets out for a month and they do not watch television in the mornings.

  17. wtf?....

    wow.

i didnt realize people live like this.

  18. Well I'm in school right now and even though its not written down, i have one kinda in my head.

  19. well, no but it would help!

    (we are homeschooled)

  20. 7.15am they get up and come into my bed. We snuggle till about 7.45 then we get up. I cook breakfast while my son feeds the cat and puts its tray outside. We have breakfast then one child uses the bathroom(hair and teeth, they shower at night) while the other gets their school uniform on. I have a shower and get dressed. Then I make their lunch and snack food. Make myself a coffee and hop on the computer while I have my coffee. By now it is usually about 8.30am. They pack their school bags. If time they do a little homework or read. Then When I have finmished my coffee I do my hair and teeth and we leave about 8.40-8.45 to walk to school.

  21. My kids dont have specific times that they do things.  They get up, eat, brush teeth and walk out the door.  Both shower the night before so there is less rush in the morning.
