My almost 3 year old son has a stuffed otter that he named River that he will not sleep without, and my 1 1/2 year old has a stuffed monkey, that he just calls Monkey that he will not even get into bed without. Does your child (or children) have buddies or blankets they won't go to bed without? Just curious to see.... Also, is there an age that you should try to wean them off of it, or just let them have it until they don't want it anymore?

  1. I have a 7 yr old daughter that packs around a stuffed elephant named cozy i dont see a problem with it she doesnt take it to school tho! haha

  2. It is a great thing that your kids have stuffies! let them keep the stuffies until they dont want them any more taking them away would make them feel insecure.. usually they just need a friend and you would be taking away thier buddy if you took away the stuffie

  3. I know this might sound weird but I still have a stuffed animal that I have had since I was born I will not let go with it the only thing is that I do not sleep with it any more.  I say just let them have there little toys or blankets until they either get tired of it or they don't want to sleep with it any more.

  4. my son is only 11 months and isn't attached to anything but ME right now! =) Maybe you should try weaning the 3year old off of it before he starts school...

  5. im 40 and I still have my stuff animal.

  6. My 5 year old daughter doesn't have a favorite, but she does insist on sleeping with at least one doll or stuffed animal.  When we take her to her room, she will ask for the ones she wants.  Right now her 2 favorites are ones that Grandma bought her last week during her visit with us.

I don't think there is a problem with it, as long as the child knows that taking the item to school or daycare isn't acceptable.  I know my girl will be taking hers for Show and Tell on Friday, but otherwise, she isn't allowed to take them to preschool.

  7. OH yes!!

all 3 of my daughters have stuffies

and my 8 year old son Aadyn has a blanket named mr.?

my 11 year old daughter Alexia has a rabbit named GoGo.

my 5 year old daughter Addisyn has a Monkey named Delaney.

and my 18 month old daughter Ava has a Dog Named Goggie ha. Becuase that's how she says dog. :-)

they do sleep with them every night! Ava bring hers when ever she goes some where... :-)  umm my oldest is 11.... weaning them off i dont know... you know when ever they feel like they dont need a stuffie any more! dont wean them off one.. you know. i think its great that they all have one.. i guess it makes them feel safe.

    Well good luck.
