Doberman pincher vs staffordshire bull terrier?

Both breeds are VERY

smart, loyal and strong.

but if you are looking for a guard dog get the Doberman.

1of the reasons the Doberman was bred was to be a guard dog.

the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is really people friendly which makes it not such a good guard dog.

This, coupled with its affection for its friends, and children in particular, its off-duty quietness and trustworthy stability, makes it a foremost all-purpose dog."

They are both fine dogs but you MUST socialize them well so they will not be dangerous. Good luck with your new pup!

well both dogs are as loyal as each other but staffs are better for kids. dobermans are smarter as they are used as police dogs. staff are used for dog fighting whereas dobermans are used to take down a man, which make them far better guards as it is what they were bred to do, which also means they would be smarter. staffs are childish dogs whereas dobermans are quite serious.

I would say that both breeds are gonna be good guard dogs... I would go with a doberman if it was me that was getting the dog just because the bull dogs have such a bad reputation & you must socialize them with other dogs and pets. Have you though about a Rottweiler I have a female Rottie and she is a great dog she is very protective but not vicious. I have had rotties all my life and they are great dogs. If you do go with a doberman you should check out the white ones they are really cool, I don't know if they would have and medical problems since they are white though. Personally, I have to lean towards staffies. :) But, they both will do anything they are trained to do. That's why they are used for fighting, they will do it if they're trained sadly.

If taken care of, well trained, and well socialized, either dog will be loyal and smart. I don't know much about Staffies, but I do know about Dobermans. They are more difficult to handle, and therefore not recommended for first time dog owners. They're also extremely intelligent. Both breeds have naturally muscular builds. With regular exercise, and proper food portions, that won't change. Dobermans are also naturally protective, and strangers are very wary of either breeds just because of their reps. :P
