Doc Hay likely to prevail in Pat And Graham Roberts Ruby Wedding Handicap
Doc Hay is likely to prevail in the Pat And Graham Roberts Ruby Wedding Handicap at Beverley in England on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. The winning horse will be awarded a cash prize of £7,116.
A total of 17 runners had initially lined up for action at Beverley, but Fitz Flyer, Partner, Mirza and Liberty Lady have been ruled out of the race. All of them were decent runners and anyone of them could have managed to win today.
However, 13 entries have now been finalised for the race, which is scheduled to start at 15:20 GMT, and their names are as follows: Doc Hay, Tagula Night, Marvellous Value, Courageous, Magical Macey, Marine Commando, Racy, Valery Borzov, Baby Strange, Hazelrigg,
Sunraider, Cocktail Charlie and Master Rooney.
Out of the above mentioned horses, Doc Hay has been awarded with the best odds by the bookies. He has got quite a lot of experience and has been performing well recently as well, which will encourage the punters to place bets in his favour.
The five-year-old gelding has participated in 18 races until now, winning five of them. Moreover, he has also secured the runner up position once whereas managed to take the third spot on a couple of occasions.
Importantly, the Keith Dalgleish’s trainee has shown a lot of improvement in his recent races and he managed to finish third overall last time. He was up against some quality runners, but still managed to give a tough time to all of them.
Doc Hay will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Joe Fanning, who has been delivering some consistent results over the past many months. He will be hoping for another victory at Beverley today.
The bookies also expect Courageous to give a tough time to his opponents in the race.  He has a poor strike rate, winning just a couple of events out of 30 attempts. However, he is fully capable of fighting for top positions and can spring up a surprise,
if everything goes well for him.
The six-year-old gelding will be ridden by Frederik Tylicki, who is a decent performer, but has to improve his overall strike rate in order to attract more bets.
