I was supposed to receive medicaid by last week but they called me and said that they needed info about my student loans, which will take a little to process. I have an appt. on Wednesday(I'm pregnant), but won't have medicaid yet. I know they do the retroactive thing, but will they make me pay on Wednesday, because I don't have insurance? Or a bill me later kind of issue. I've tried calling the doc's office, but it always goes to answering machine, but I don't want to leave a message saying, I can't pay until I'm approved for medicaid.

  1. They are going to want the money upfront.  You can however, make a claim with medicaid after you receive it and they will reimburse you for it.

  2. You'll have to ask the doctor.  Most likely, they'll bill you later if you don't get approved for Medicaid.

  3. here's a novel idea ... get a job !!!!!

  4. Just let the doctor's office know when you get there that you have not received your medical card in the mail yet.  They should work with you.

  5. Most likely, the doctor will wait for the medicaid. Bring your proof of application with you so you can at least show that you have applied.
