Doctor Michele Ferrari denies his connections with Lance Armstrong
Dr. Michele Ferrari has denied all the doping allegations related to Lance Armstrong case and stated that he never had any contact with the American regarding the issue.
“I never saw any doping practice from Lance Armstrong,” Ferrari told Al Jazeera in a television interview on Friday.
“I can say I never saw or heard something about that. He never asked me for information about doping. There are six riders that accused me but these riders, I didn’t have any relationship or any consulting with these guys,” he concluded.
Lance Armstrong was found guilty of doping with the USADA’s detailed investigation comprising of a 1000 page report and recorded testimony of as many as 26 cyclists admitting doping previously in their career.
USADA also imposed a lifetime ban on Doctor Michele Ferrari for helping Armstrong and his teammates in the doping scam.
Out of the 26 cyclists that confessed doping, 11 were Lance’s former teammates including Frankie Andreu, Michael Barry, Tom Danielson, Tyler Hamilton, George Hincapie, Floyd Landis, Levi Leipheimer, Stephen Swart, Christian Vande Velde, Jonathan Vaughters and David Zabriskie.
Armstrong had no way to go but to admit his wrongdoings, which he still owes to all his fans all across the world however, UCI officially stripping him off form all the seven Tour de France overall victories and all other wins since 1998 was enough to destroy, what was left of his dignity.
Former US Postal cyclists, Tyler Hamilton, Michael Barry, Levi Leiphiemer, Floyd Landis and George Hincapie all provided USADA with the evidence of Ferrari’s involvement however; the Italian discharged all the allegations calling the investigation a conspiracy against him.
He noted that there is no evidence in the USADA investigation against him and the cyclists voted against him probably to save their own selves, “they agreed with the USADA conspirations [sic]”.
“What I can say about the USADA investigation is that there is no evidence, in particular no evidence against me. I can say also there is no evidence, no smoking gun about the accusations,” he noted.
Doctor Ferrari also stated that he is looking to overturn his lifetime ban and is considering a legal action against his ban by USADA.
