Doctor claims Robert Kubica will return to Formula 1 in 2012 – Formula 1 news
Robert Kubica’s current doctor has recently claimed that the Polish driver will certainly return for the 2012 Formula 1 season.
“I would say with certainty that Robert will be a F1 driver in 2012. I cannot say when he will be ready but it will be between the months of November and January,” Dr Riccardo Ceccarelli, Kubica’s father told Omnicorse.
His doctor added that it is great to see Kubica recovering at such a fast pace and despite the fact it is gradual and slow, he will recover fully and be able to perform at his best.
All the team has to do now is to wait for the Pole to give them his final verdict regarding this matter in the near future keeping in mind that Renault’s team principal has given him an October deadline.
Other than that, Kubica’s manager Daniele Morelli has also stated that the young driver is going to return to Formula 1 certainly but meeting the team’s deadlines might be difficult.
“We are not able to predict a precise date (for Kubica's return) because it is nature taking its course. But we are optimistic, very optimistic, and I do not think a delay of a couple of weeks can affect the plans. One thing is certain - he is coming back.
The only problem now is muscular,” said Morelli.
Renault got rid of Nick Heidfeld mid-way through the current season and decided to bring in their test driver Bruno Senna for the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season after the summer break.
Now, the team is still confused about its drivers’ line-up for the 2012 Formula 1 season as it is believed that they might even get rid of Vitaly Petrov next year keeping in mind that he has a valid contract until the end of 2012.
