German doctor Ludwig Seebauer has commented on the injury sustained by Sporting Lisbon forward, Marat Izmailov, revealing that there have been changes in tendon but the player is psychologically all right.
Russian International, Izmailov, had a great start to the 2011/2012 Primeira Liga season but unfortunately for him, he suffered an injury to his right knee.
The 29-year-old spent almost the whole of last term nursing a tendon injury and missed out on all the footballing action.
This term is again starting to look like it might have the same consequence as the player will have to undergo surgery to cure the problem. Sporting manager Domingos Paciência expressed his dismay at what was happening but reiterated that in order to be
fully fit, Izmailov will have to go under the knife.
Speaking to reporters, the tactician revealed that an operation would have to be conducted but the situation did not please him or the player.
“Something has to be done. Another operation? The medical department will decide. He may have to face a spell on the sidelines for a longer period to recover, which makes sense, or it may need another solution. It’s a situation that does not please Marat
and does not please us,” he said.
Seebauer also commented on the injury and revealed that he was monitoring the patient and that certain changes had erupted in his tendon but it did not affect the player mentally.
He said that the injury was getting better and it allowed the player to resume his training duties.
“He was fine; the tendon was fine when I last saw him, it has allowed him to return to training recently. There have been significant changes in the tendon but there hasn’t been anything wrong psychologically,” Ludwig Seebauer was quoted as saying.
With Sporting Lisbon being serious challengers for the title this year, Marat Izmailov must recover quickly and come to his side’s aide, so that they can defeat the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 and Benfica.
