My eye doctor just recently told me that I no longer need my glasses. I have worn glasses (weak prescription) for distance vision for almost three years. I liked my glasses and wore them quite a bit. I wore them the entire day right up until the time that the doctor asked me to take them off after checking my vision with them on.. My doctor said that my vision was absolutely perfect without my glasses on. She said that is was actually better than 20/20 without my glasses. She told me not to wear them ever again. I think they help a lot but she said no.

  1. psychological dependence ,

  2. Listen to you doctor. They know what they are talking about. You are experiencing what is called the placebo effect.

  3. well lets see ur not the doctor, she or he knows what their talking about

  4. Don't continue to use the glasses.  As we age our vision actually gets better.  It has to do with our crystalline lens and it elasticity.  If you have better than 20/20 vision now, you absolutely do not need glasses.  In what way are they helping you?  For instance, if you are seeing better at night while driving, it could be that you have anti-reflective coating on your lenses that is cutting down glare.  If that is the case you can get plano (non-prescription) glasses made with anti-reflective coating on them to wear while driving at night.  Dont wear the Rx ones anymore though.
