Doctor said that if bone in foot does not heal, it will have to be removed.?

Is this a common practice to remove bones that do not heal from a fracture? If so can anyone tell me what it in tells.

There are dozens of bones in the foot apart from the obvious ones. Look at the x-ray, there are many little ones apparently "floating" around the ankle area. I am sure losing one, though it may slightly affect how you walk, would be no major loss.

any bone that doesnt heal could need to be removed.  just make sure it heals

yes. depending on where the bone is the procedure will be done arthroscopic this in-tells two incisions and about an hour in the OR
