Trying to make an appointment online using the EMIS access booking system, i've registered and used it before however every time I try to sign in it comes up with a message saying "Internal error" please try later. I've been trying since Friday night and it still will not work does anybody have any ideas why/how I can fix this?

  1. Hi, I have the EXACT same issue with on line access to patient services for the surgery. I don't think they have quite perfected the system as of yet, just try booking Monday morning, that's my only suggestion, talk to the practise secretaries and they will put you in touch with whoever deals with technical support issues for the site and generally log in queries. There is a section on the EMIS page for help and assistance

  2. never heard of it, is this some new fangled thing? i suppose it might cut out the dreaded doctors receptionist but sounds  a nightmare to me, what about old people who dont have the internet. this is going to be one of hte problems if you ask me about introducing things like this, look at the problems you're having with it to start with

  3. There is obviously a problem with either the web site or the internet link they have.

Is there any contact number  for them to report the error?  Try this

    UK Head Office address:

    EMIS UK

    Fulford Grange

    Micklefield Lane

    Rawdon

    Leeds

    LS19 6BA

    England

    Tel: +44 (0) 113 259 1122

    Web: www.emis-online.com

If not walk down to the surgery first thing monday morning and let them know you might get an appointment then too if other people can't get through to the system.

Alternatively, contact NHS direct and see if they can fax the practise to let them know they have an IT problem..

  4. One would dare to suggest that you perhaps change surgeries to one which is closer to you, and still uses people to make appointments.  If my surgery did the online thing as the only way to make an appointment, I would leave, if they treat their patients like that, they do not have their best interests at heart, but only the profitability of the practice.
