Hi. I'm finding it very hard to get an idea of how much doctors in Australia get paid - from GPs to Specialists, from Public to Private practise, from Interns to Consultants...

Can anyone help?

  1. it varies , depends on where you decide to work , public or private , I see job adds here looking for  temp doc's they seem to offer between 50- 70 ausd per hour....... then there's full time work , again depending  what type of doc you are , if you are on a "salary " you could work all the hours god sends and recieve only your salary  which might be 60g"s to 80 g's per annum , lots of doctors have "practices " here and  their income is a mystery , but probably well over 150 g's per annum , its 50 bucks now every time you visit a doc , plus what ever else  you might need .....specialists and consultants  do "price work "  so their hourly rate  might be some where from 250 ausd per hour ........ to 1000 dollars per hour ,  so there's basically no set rate of pay  for proffessional people here .......
