Documentation required for UK driver driving in Ireland (Republic)? Or any useful advice about differences?

My UK insurance covers me for 60 days in the EU, I have a full UK driving licence, and I have extended my UK AA ( that's cars, not alcoholics ) cover. I will be carrying my passport, have up to date UK road tax ( 'disc' in the window) and a valid UK MOT certificate.

Anything else I should know?

  1. Thats all u need! btw ur exempt from penalty points on speed cameras so feel free to drive fast!    JOKE  You have all sorted anyway! driving here is exact same as over there! have a nice trip!

The tax Free petrol.???.... Your on about green diesel, its red in the uk! thats agricultural diesel, I dont think she has to worry about that! people use it in diesel cars cos its cheaper but a much lower grade! u know what ur buying when u buy it!!

  2. one thing you should be cautious about, since people slip over the border to fill up on the tax free petrol, most of it is a diffrent colour, and if you get stoped by the police once back in the UK, you could be fined.

  3. You have all the legal requirements. No problems there.  One thing to bear in mind is that we went metric and all speed limits and distance signs are in Kilometers. Top speed on Motorways is 120 kilometers per hour, don't be fooled into thinking it's miles per hour. Main roads are N roads at 80 K max. Drink driving is not tolerated and a mandatory 2 years loss of license.

    Drive safely.

  4. HI YOU

YOU HAVE ALL BASES COVERED THERE IS NOTHING LEFT NOW BUT TO ENJOY YOUR TRIP HERE
