(Sorry - I cannot post comments there).

2003 Dodge Intrepid - no cold air is coming from the fans when on cold or with A/C on.

I don't know where the A/C compressor or the freon tank is located, looked under the hood but nothing seemed obvious.

With the engine started, fan on, I activated the A/C and did not hear the compressor go on like I normally do. The light in the A/C button turns on, however.

So I want to check the fuses. But where is the A/C relay located, or if it is in the general fuse relay box under the hood, can anyone tell me which fuse it is and how I can tell if it's blown? I don't have the car manual, unfortunately.

  1. the relay is in the relay center under the hood in a black box. maybe its low on refrigerant. i have never in my life heard of a freon tank, especially in a car that doesn't use freon

  2. Usually with those year Intrepid's, you have a leak in the system the allows all the R134a refrigerant and the pressure out of the system.  The compressor will not engage without pressure in the system.  You could try the charge kit they sell at auto parts stores and see if it will be enough.

Very rarely it is the relay, but it is located under the hood near the jump start points on the left side of the engine compartment.  It will say fuse and relay center.
